This agreement establishes a contractual relationship between Goodwin Barrett Limited T/a Goodwin Barrett (Company No:09294215) Mikar Business Park, Northolt Drive, Bolton, BL3 6NJ and the individual(s) who prints their name(s) and the individual(s) who sign this agreement. By signing, the client authorises the Firm to advise, investigate, and represent them in lodging a complaint against relevant third parties, including pursuing claims for Ongoing Advice Fees or Unsuitable Investment or Pension Advice.
Goodwin Barrett may terminate this agreement at any time, with no fee payable by you, if we determine there are no grounds for a claim or that your claim is unlikely to succeed. You have the right to cancel the contract within 14 days of signing, by phone, email, or in writing to Goodwin Barrett, with no charge. If you cancel after 14 days and we have submitted your claim, and an offer of compensation is made, we will charge the full fee as outlined below, even if you do not wish to accept the offer. If you cancel after 14 days and we are unsuccessful in submitting your claim, no fee will be charged.
The law applicable to this contract shall be English law and the parties consent to the jurisdiction of the English courts in all matters affecting this contract.
You do not need to use Goodwin Barrett to make this claim – you can do this yourself free of charge and if your claim is unsuccessful, you can pursue this with the Financial Ombudsman Service. In the event that your financial adviser is no longer in business you may be able to use the services of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Goodwin Barrett will endeavour to recover all monies in respect of your claim and undertake to forward any payment from your investment provider to you within seven days from the date received. You must pay our fee within 7 days of receiving compensation (if paid directly to you) or within 7 days of our recommendation if you reject the offer. (See the "How to complain about our service" section of the Client Care Document for information on challenging a bill.) Unpaid bills may incur interest at a rate of 8% above the Bank of England's base rate, accruing before a court judgment.

We will send you a written or electronic acknowledgement of a complaint within five business days of receipt, identifying the person who will be handling the complaint for the business. Where we decide that redress is appropriate, we will provide you with fair compensation for any acts or omissions for which we are responsible and will comply with any offer of redress that you accept.
